I want the food list!
I got the typical response after telling a vegan that the plant based diet almost destroyed my digestive tract. " You did it wrong" 😂
So I've been 98% vegetarian for the last 6 months and I feel dreadful. No energy, constant constipation, anxiety through the roof, sweats/chills, poor sleep and aches.
been vegan since 2016 I weighed 150 – 155 lbs. now I weigh 140 lbs. Essentially I decided to go vegan as a health experiment. I suppose it was okay everything was normal. Slight deficit every now and then due to a lack of vitamins consumed nothing dangerous but sure I was tired and depressed here and there.
Note I'm very active in my life I exercise and work outdoors as a concrete laborer.
As of now, everything is smooth I just recently increased my fiber and zinc intake with Flaxseed and Hempseed. I can say my digestion has got better I used the bathroom so that must be a WIN but I can't say it's in "TOP CONDITION" yet. This week I've been slightly fasting due to constipation this last week. A couple days ago I made a burger with beyond meat. I felt good. I wasn't full. My stomach just wasn't really digesting much.
Note: I have been training 0 – 5 times a week this year, I wanted to enlist in the air force but I just decided it wasn't FOR ME. BUT, MY goals are the same I want to be at my peak athletic condition every day. By the way, I usually snack here and there and have 1 – 3 meals a day.
So as of yesterday, I've been resting and eating small,, I'll update you all on my next meal to see how it goes.
Is my digestion a serious problem or do I need more fiber?Â

Food list please. Had a doctor take 90% of my large intestines, mistakenly. Only to remove my gallbladder after he cut on me weekly for months. Im trying to elimante things to be better. Growing through adversity is my goal. I want to share my story because im a former athlete and kids need to understand this.

This is a lie. Studies prove that the best way to fix an unhealthy gut is by eating a mostly plant-based or plant-based diet. You are spreading lies. It’s Not the vegan diet that is causing their issues it is doing the vegan diet wrong and combining the wrong foods that is causing gut issues. People who practice veganism properly experience improvement in gut health. How about become educated about veganism and then teach your clients how to practice veganism properly. Teach them about the proper herbs and spices to combine with the proper fruits and vegetables and other plants so that they get the maximum benefit without the discomfort. Instead of trying to force people to change their entire lifestyle because you’re not educated on the topic.

I was extremely healthy and decided to go vegan.
I lasted 3 years as a vegan. I developed diverticulitis and spent a few months in hospital over the last year being vegan. I had diarrhoea around 8 times a day. I tried the low fodmap diet and it made it worse. Nothing seemed to work.
After humbling myself and taking the advice from my dietician and nutritionist (who were actually both vegan), I was able to try a different path and accept the vegan diet was not sustainable for me.
I am now 95% carnivore and my symptoms of diverticulitis stopped within 2 weeks of going carnivore.
I’m still recovering from the damage I did to my body being on a vegan diet.
To all those thinking ‘you just didn’t do the vegan diet right’, I spent about a year researching, consulting with my vegan dietician (one of the most trusted in Melbourne) and spent over $30K on supplements and good advice/diet planning.
I’ll hopefully start introducing veggies slowly into my diet, yet are so grateful for the dieticians and nutritionists I saw, who were able to suspend their dogma, bias and feelings, enough to help me (despite my stubbornness) in accepting that one can still be a moral person and eat meat.
I perhaps owe my life to them.
