Thank u so much for the recipe. I became vegetarian a month ago. I don't really miss meat but I kinda miss the dishes that I was used to do with it like burger, tacos, lasagne etc. I started using tofu but it wasn't enough to replace meat in some dishes. The soma it's a really good option. I bought seitan made but it wasn't really good so I decided to try it. It took me all the afternoon but I'm glad I did because it worked well and it's like in the video. I will be doing it each week. Thank u very much, now I'm definitely never going back on my decision bcs I have no reason to do so. Hope you will keep posting. I loved your way to explain, your voice, and patience.

I tried this using a different video and it did not go well. The gluten did not stick together and it was very wet.I will try your method tomorrow.

Well, I watched this video a number of times until I felt ready to try it myself. The first time through, the dough stuck to my fingers for the first step while kneading. I kept at it though and went through all the washings and massaging. Etc. The end result was nothing like yours and I was unable to pull it to braid without it breaking. The second time I added a little more flour to add the kneading. Again, I followed the instructions through all the washings and although I was able to somewhat braid the dough it was still pulling apart and looked nothing like yours. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm disabled and have IBS so I have to do a low fodmap diet. I'm not gluten sensitive but it's the fructan that actually causes issues for me. Does washing the flour remove the fructan?

Sir, i want to share my personal experience with seitan making. Pls dont wash the freshly made dough immediately. Let it rest in the fridge covered with plastic sheet over a bowl for atleast 4 hours or overnight. Then wash it well but leave some starch to make the seitan little soft. You will get much more yield from the same amount of flour. I get a little over 400gm of seitan from 1 Kg refined wheat flour/All purpose flour.
