I've been wanting to share this journey with you for awhile. This is my experience. I am not telling you to go on bio identical hormones, I am telling you that is what worked for me. It is a very personal choice that you must make for yourself with the help of your Doctor. Do your research and do what is best for you. I hope this will give you some help and know that you are not alone if you are struggling. If you would like to share your experience I would love to hear about it in the comments or you can DM on my Instagram @chewonvegan.
Thanks for the info .
Thank you so much for sharing. I assumed that what I felt was grief that wouldn't go away. Now I know how to move forward.
Your hormone numbers were NORMAL for your age. But they were lower than what you were used to. I had the same experience. Then that GYN doctor left and another one came in who does bioidentical hormones. I have taken bioidentical hormones now for a year. I get the pellets. And then take progestrone pills on top of that. I feel GREAT. I saw a doc on youtube say that she doesn't recommend or mention the pellets because insurance doesn't pay for it. It's only 400 every 4 months. That's so little compared to the relief I get. That's just not a good excuse, and why is a doctor making financial decisions for people? Women want OPTIONS. Glad I found your channel. Learning a lot.
You are such a gift to me! Thank you! I start off now with the same weight as you were. I'm 5.3 foot tall, just turned 56 and also had celiac issues. I did a DNA test and I'm definitely the carb type. I will start now with ss! Thank you for this yummy recipes of yours! I'm so scared that it won't work, bc of all these diets l messed up my metabolism. Wish me luck.
Are you still got n hormone therapy? Just curious how long you can be on it. Thanks!!
Wow…I literally just read a comment on another video that starches and carbs cause AGEs, I forgot the name but it's a chemical or toxin that ages the body when you eat carbs and starch. And I'm looking at you, a full carb and starch eater, and you're GLOWING looking vibrant and young!!!! That's it. Im convinced!! Im fully committing to the starch solution!! All these stories and results are so inspiring. I have over 100lbs left to burn off, so I'm hoping this really helps more than anything else Ive tried! I just feel much cleaner when I eat plants versus a lot of meat & processed foods that fit in a calorie budget.

Thank you for info I started me menopause at 28 Iโm 54 pescatarian gain 15 ponds over pandemic canโt get it off
Thank you for sharing. There is a wonderful podcast on menopause and hormones, history of HRT, and nutritional recommendations on The Doctorโs Kitchen podcast (UK GP who advocates for WFPB way of eating). He interviewed a female UK menopause expert physician on his show. I also listened to another great interview with a plant based physician, Dr. Gemma Newsome (?), with Simon Hill on the Plant Proof podcast. She discusses the data and risk/benefit of HRT. There interviews highlight the lack of expertise in treating womenโs hormone deficiencies, lack of consensus on when to test and what to do with low normal or abnormal results, and reflect much of your experience shared here. Thanks for your videos! Sarah
I am 56 and in menopause not post yet. I have had some hot flashes but not much else other than belly fat. I'm hoping to fix that by eating more WFPB.
wow this is my story I appreciate your honesty and your story very very helpful.
Thanks for sharing your story! What is the type of Dr you went to for the bio-identical hormones? What type of specialist? I want to see if I can find a Dr like this, too! Thanks again!
I would be curious as to whether the removal of gluten (at that time) played the bulk of the role in the memory & energy issues you speak about.
U look 20 yrs younger
Thank you for you story, I happened on you channel when I was looking up information about going vegan, your advice about reading The Starch Solution has changed my life in such a short time. I havenโt lost much weight yet itโs only been less than a week but I feel so much better already. I have been overweight most of my adult life and Iโm just tired of being unhealthy and in pain all of the time. Iโm 62, about 60 lbs. overweight, Iโm lucky to not be on any medications and I want to keep it that way. I feel that this is the answer I have been looking for. Thank you so much. New subscriber.
Thank you! very helpful info!
Yes thank you for sharing. It is super important to STAY ON TRACK. I agree.
I would have never have thought you were in your 60's! NO WAY! โค๏ธ
Thank you so much for sharing your information
Thank you for your proactive health information through your personal story. You look amazing for 64 so a person who has walked the talk
Thanks for the information. I will make a doctor's appointment. I stopped having my periods for 2 years until this month. I thought that was menopause. I didn't have hot flashes or other pre or post menopause symptoms, and I thought its because of eating plant based, now I am confused. By the way, I'm 51 but you look fabulous for your age.
Dang girl! I never wouldโve thought you were in your 60s!
Great story! Thanks for sharing. I'm an RN, went back to school after I had my kids. They were 6 and under. It was tough! Would've been easier if I'd been plant based, but I wasn't. Congrats on finishing nursing school as an older student lol. Quite an accomplishment! I've been an RN for 32 years, vegan for 16 and WFPB for 6. My menopause was probably easier than most, but sheesh I had periods till like 56! Didn't need hormones (or bioidenticals), just some supplements for nighttime heat waves and sleep issues. I still get hot about 4 am. And I love this way of eating!

Very helpful! I'm just a year older than you and I sure wish I had learned all this 20 years ago! I was 48 and post menopausal. I've learned a lot since. Keep it coming!
Thank you so much!!! I really needed to hear that!! Very motivating.
Thank you Deb, very helpful. I need to make a lot of adjustments! ๐
