Hi Merle!! I’ve been wanting to go vegan for years, super invested in learning about all things veganism. I have felt pressured to kind of go all in instead gradually. Even though some people say to do it slowly. I really feel like something in me will finally click to go vegan since I’ve been wanting to do it from my heart for so long. Love these tips!

This might be a challenge for you, but my friend who was formerly vegan is now dealing with MCAS and cannot eat nuts OR soy, along with other ingredients. Do you have any recipe recommendations I could share with them?

You don't know how much I needed to hear every word you just said, I've been trying almost 2 years being completely vegan and has been really hard for me, because family and friends don't share the same interest, but I have to feel good because I am doing my best and after all if I keep going I may also be inspiration for them some day… thank you Marle <3

I organize proteins by the speed/effort required to make them. Regular beans are the slowest, need to be soaked overnight and cooked for 30-40 min. Lentils don't need to be soaked but need to be cooked 30-40 min. And tofu is the fastest, needing no soaking or cooking. So when I don't feel like cooking I'll cook with tofu. It's a great ingredient for making healthy meals fast. To me it just tastes like egg whites.

I don't think I could ever fully commit to a vegan/plant-based lifestyle but I try to add more vegan/plant-based dishes each week and month.

Thank you for the excellent guidance, Merle! My partner is allergic to almost all legumes and some nuts, which is such a cornerstone of vegan recipes. He can have tofu and soybeans, though! A 'Tofu 101' would be fantastic!!

I would love to go vegan, the genuine hardest thing for me is my soy allergy
I went plant based for my health in the earlier part of this year. My husband is on a eat whatever he wants diet. He understands that everything in the house will be things that both of us can eat-besides obvious things like sardines- and he has enjoyed learning all about vegan flavors and trying this with me. He eats plant based around 70% of the time, and is a big advocate for it. We also travel quite a bit and finding vegan food at some places can be downright impossible so I had to give myself the ability to eat vegetarian so I wouldn't starve or be rude during these times. It's a balance and I love to hear other people taking the same approach or understanding of it.

I would LOVE a beginner vegan pantry list. Or even a current vegan pantry tour. Also suggestions about sourcing niche vegan items. Probably easier than I think it is, but sometimes I get hung up on not finding a replacement for some items.

Careful with iron, our bodies don't have a way to get rid of it, aside from bleeding. We don't need that much and excess iron can be a real problem.

Vegans go carnivore but Carnivores NEVER go vegan …. Over time on vegan makes you sick… FACT … read Weston Price book who studied communities WORLDWIDE and looked at peoples teeth … your teeth will get cavities on vegan… Dr Chaffee is a more reliable source then a pretty girl…nothing against this host but do your REAL research… teeth measure your health
I can't go fully vegan because I can't eat any type of legumes (no beans, green peas, chickpea, soy etc), but I'm still trying to eat at least 3 main meals vegan or vegetarian. My favourite is oyster mushroom wings, it's so delicious, you don't miss meat in this meal!

Any video makes the people sounds super drunk or super stoned… I had to rewatch this on .25 speed. I needed to know what flashed on the screen. I was like one frame, so fast, but I needed to know what I saw.
