- A great thing about Boise is the ability to get away from the city and into the mountains within a 15–20-minute drive. Now, there are people attempting to ruin your experience. KTVB-TV‘s Jude Binkley speaks with Boise Police reporting 10 car burglaries took place over the weekend at local trailheads. These included trailhead parking lots at the 8th Street extension, Camels Back, Hulls Gulch, Polecat, and Collister. To gain access, thieves smashed the windows on some of the vehicles. (KTVB.com)
- January is coming close to a memory and February means $3 entry to the Boise Zoo every Thursday. Every entry, senior citizen, child or general admission is only $3 on Thursdays throughout the month. (Boise Patch)
- A 20-year-old Boise man is dead after he stepped into traffic Wednesday evening. CBS2 new staff report the incident took place on I-184 near milepost 2. The man died at the scene. (Idaho News)
- If you happen to be in downtown Boise late in the evening and are craving vegan, BoiseDev managing editor Gretchen Parsons has good news. Frondescence will open at 103 N 10th St. and offer vegan hoagies, tacos, nachos, and pasta. - According to the new Idaho Superintendent of Public Instruction, Idaho needs $2.5 billion in state funding next year for K-12 education. The IdahoCapitalSun‘s Clark Corbin was present as Debbie Critchfield presented her budget before the Idaho Legislature’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee. The state educates 319,000 students.
