Haven't transitioned to WFPB but trying very hard to add veggies to my life which I've lost my taste for, and not eating red meat. The way I get a ton of veggies in my diet is I cook any and everything in one big pot of broth. Cabbage, spinach, carrots, sweet or regular potatoes, onion, broccoli etc, as well as beans and whatever spices you like. Then I use my immersion blender and wallah you've got a great tasty sauce to put on everything. I keep containers in the freezer.
For my water which I really dont like I always add stevia, but lately I've been brewing a pitcher of green tea and adding the juice of orange, lemon and cukes. Strain the cucumber juice. Really tasty with Stevia.
I can't eat nuts😔so I can't eat the cereal. The skin of lemon is full of vitamin C
I add sea moss to my breakfast Smoothie
frozen fruit and veges are great when stuff is out of season. in the northeast our summer fruits are done by August so go with frozen save money
I’m sure you’re speaking all of our stories, during the switch over. Time spent on Pinterest searching recipes and yet it really is simplified by knowing simple rice, potatoes and veggies with a few spices or salads and simple sauces bring us such awesome meals.
These were all good vegan foods to keep around. I have before I saw this video incorporated the potatoes, the rice and the beans. I did realize creating the best sauces and finding the spices makes all the difference in the world on how great a meal will taste.so I am working on this part of the diet. I know you are speaking from the heart because of what you have mentioned and what I discovered for myself being on this journey! Thank you for more tips which will make my life easiier!!
Is that real rice or cauliflower rice you're talking about
Another thing I love about bananas 🍌 is they are economical. I get a huge bunch at Walmart for around $2!
I have been thinking of changing my keto to plant-based diet. You inspired me. I start liking potatoes now from being scared of touching any carbs.
Love this!
I am always so busy I chop my kale, lettuce wash them wash my spring mix and other leafy veggies then spin dry them in a big container I mix them together for diversity and store them in a reusable ziploc bag and they last 3 weeks. Rice, quinoa, couscous I cook and freeze. D rest of my meals r canned beans, pre-made dressings, fruits and other things that does not need cooking. Don't freeze my pasta I just make a batch for the week. During the week I don't cook, don't have the time. This makes eating healthier super easy. My potatoes I cook, I dont freeze just pop in microwave with a cup of water and it's like u just cooked them. All beans am using for the week is out the can, rinsed and stored in a mason jar. So for the gals with no time or just too lazy u can definately live this lifestyle stress and worry free.
Love, love, love your sauces!!!
Proud of you
OLIVE OIL IS A HEALTHY FAT! AND GOOD FOR YOU…..
Your veggie broth hack 🧡!
Great ideas but I looked up salt content and there is way too much salt in those ready to eat products.
I love potatoes!
Do you count calories?
I have felt a lot of resistance to your use of packaged frozen veggies – I'm such a purist but this video completely won me over! I'm going to freeze some rice – and since I canned my own beans (that was fun) I will have an easy peasy healthy meal! I love your enthusiasm and your passion.. thank you! Also, I'm addicted to frozen cherries for dessert….just the cherries!
Great video and suggestions! I just wish Rip's big bowl was Gluten Free since I have Celiac disease.
There is no vegan cheese sauce that I like more than yours! There is always, always, always some in my fridge. Really appreciate how good it taste and so easy to make: no boiling potatoes and carrots = a pain. My only "issue" is that it tends to come out very watery and even if I put in more thickening, like the potato flakes, when I pour it over let's say frozen, steamed, veggies, it tends to lose its flavor in the process as it tends to mix with the moisture in the veggies. Yours looks really thick in this video so makes me go "hmmmmm".
Try using a George Foreman grill for crispy hashbrowns! Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and zest for life! I really enjoy watching your videos! 💜
I haven't eaten a banana for decades, but, I read that banana peelings are good for the garden, so I started eating them again, and, I timed how long after eating a banana I became hungry again, for me, one banana keep me filling full for 4 hours.
What would you recommend for school lunches for the kiddos?
Great advice for nutrition and weight loss! So many people eat foods that are healthy but not necessarily good for losing weight. This video does both and also keeps it simple enough that anyone can do it. Only one suggestion and that is that these recommendations do not need to completely replace the diet you have … just eat these first and try and fill up on these dishes. You'll eat much less of the high calorie dense food.
You are fab!
What spices do u use with ur rice n beans dishes?
Vegan Momma you are so beautiful and adorable! Thank you for all your informative & fun videos!! I find all your content so helpful. 😇
Thank you, I'm loving your videos! Thought I would share a veggie broth hack- saves & money, storage space & waste: Better than Bullion Veggie broth in the jar! Sooo delicious, 1 TBSP + 1 C of warm/hot water makes a cup of broth. I even add a bit to my dry beans when making on stove or in Instant Pot. Thanks again for the inspiration & ideas!
I’m a little confused on the beans. If you add beans to rice, are you doubling the starch side of your plate? Do you need to add extra veggies? Thanks! Love your videos!
Oh! Great idea for freezing rice! I’m definitely doing this!
