Serious Mass is actually good value if used with other foods. I take 1 scoop a day and it lasts me an entire month. Got the vanilla flavour and mixed it with 100 grams of oatmeal. That's 1000 calories in a drink. Gonna use that to get me from 160 to 200 pounds.
I use a "lean mass gainer", easy way to precisely top up your calories and protein if you're starting out at the gym, and developing a complementary diet.
Pros and cons for me personally
Pros – I made insane fucking strength gains… And QUICK
Cons – I got fat as fuck
They’re bashing these gainers but they do work. Even if you feel it’s unhealthy just take it temporarily. It definitely gives you the calories to grow. It also gives you a better appetite. Once you’ve gained the weight you can stop and you’ll still have the gains and the appetite. Then it’s up to you to find the calories to replace the mass gainer. But honestly you shouldn’t need to be eating high amounts of calories consistently for years at a time unless you are a pro athlete or just have a really demanding job.

"Mass gainers" are basically just cheap, unhealthy maltodextrin with a little whey powder mixed in. Just buy some maltodextrin powder (1 lb = $5) and add it to your protein powder. Or you could just eat candy bars and cookies every day. It would actually be healthier than maltodextrin.

Personally mass gainers got me to start eating more. I think they can be useful for upping your calorie intake quickly if you are first starting a bulk and find it really hard to reach the calories you need (i struggled to even reach the average for my weight much less a surplus) i dont take mass gaienr anymore but now i eat like a champ. Id recommend for people who are having alot of trouble getting the calories. And eating enough. Was so happy when i could eat more.

I'm starting to use a mass gainer, but I also use oats, peanut butter, ginger, Greek yogurt, milk, and cinnamon. If I have my shake right after working out, I'll still be hungry for dinner.

i think it comes down to what kind of person you are ive tried both and they worked for me , i always say the best kind of gainer is the one your actually going to take

I was 140 and when I started taking mass gainers I reached 170. I also worked out four times a week and drank whey protein after finishing my workout. I will stop taking mass gainers cause real food is better.

i have issues eating, my small appetite on top of severe acid reflex i havent found any other solution thats worked for me. all you saying ''all you gotta do is eat more'' stfu we know thats why were resorting to gainers. they dont make me feel like shit like when i force feed myself the same calories and i dont spit it all up. it do make you shit tho lol.

Mass gainers are not cheaper than making your own shake, as alot of mass gainers just have fillers that helps your body in absolutely nothing. I make my own shake one full cup of oatmeal than i blend it to a powder so its easy to consume, i do 4 table spoons of peanut butter, 1 banana, 3-6 eggs whatever your in the mood for , i put my favorite yogurt flavor in their for something extra, a handful of organic spinach, and than i just fill the blender as high as possible with whole milk blend it and just drink that. I save so much more money than buying a mass gainer , and in the end i know everything that is going in my body without worrying about fillers and uneccessary things

When I used a mass gainer for 3 months the strength gains were unreal for me. If you have stomach issues you’re using the wrong amount and that’s your fault. Mass gainers are also so much cheaper than making your own shake also with the prices of everything. A mass gainer will last you months if used correctly and you spent only 50-90 bucks. When then you new buying the groceries you need to make your own which I tried and in that 2 months I spent 200+ dollars when I coulda just used mass gainer for cheaper.

You kids that are like 14 getting on here talking about how much weight you've gained with these products. Youre take on this subject is obsolete. You do not count! You are going to gain weight naturally. You're getting taller etc. Let me hear from 25+ year olds that are finished growing. Thanks, just a thought. Common sense only please.
As someone who has always had difficulty gaining weight, mass gainers worked really well for me. I've always felt like I've had a disproportionately small appetite, even compared to people my size. For that reason, I just couldn't consume the necessary calories unless I walked around the house/work with a bowl of rice and chicken on me 24/7. Mass gainer helped me go from about 160 to 180 somewhat quickly and I'm hoping to someday get to 200 with around 17 percent body fat.
Has anyone tried these gainers that are branded as “clean gainers”? I saw one that was 560 calories for two scoops (plus the calories from the milk). I’m thinking about using that, but only doing one scoop. It would be a little over 400 calories when mixed with milk…which sounds way better than 1,000+ calories. I get between 2,700 to 2,800 calories a day from whole food already.

Mass gainer or whey. It's it bit more complex than just "take mass gainer when skinny and whey when u are fat." I used mass gainer as a part of my breakfast. Because it's cheap nutritions that you get. I combined it with oatmeal peanut butter bananas some other fruits to make it more moist and milk. Started with a 1000 calories meal and I built it up to a 1500-1600 calories meal. I hate eating carbs that's why I pick mass gainer. The thing is you can train without. There's creatine and bcaa's in some but you could just eat food without a shake. But that's ridiculous imo. Maybe if you have a chef that cooks for you. But the shakes are really good cheap nutritions.
i only use mass gainer before training do give me extra boost to lift , other than that i eat a lof of good food etc ….
when you add your own whole foods to protein shakes it makes it taste 1000x better
Every one has different bodys , best thing you can do is try it, and learn and understand your own body, dont listen and accept every ones reason for stopping something you want to try, we all have different bodys and cosume different stuff. It may work or may not but let you decide that , not any one else,
