I get this question all the time in my Q&As. “If I had to pick plant based or carnivore which diet would I choose and why?

What about lactins in plants?
But plant based means no protein powder it’s whole foods
It's almost like we're designed to be omnivores and eat a wide range of foods
What about heme iron, IGF growth hormone as well as casein linked to cancer?
Are you serious? because of fiber? This is the dumbest video I've seen in a long time. Firstly, fiber is likely beneficial only because it's blocking digestion of inflammatory foods (like grains, sugar, etc). If you remove the inflammatory junk, there's zero reason to eat fiber. Second, just the way he said "getting protein from plants is feasible" is obviously a backwards way of saying that meat is a far better source of protein (everybody agrees on this already). Third, it's just better to consume Provitamins from animals than Previtamins from plants because Provitamins are way more bioavailable (up to 20x more). And lastly, vegetables are deficient in B12, Iodine, Selenium, and D so they're just completely insufficient- as we can see in every long term vegetarian that shows this in their bloodwork…
My opinion a mixture of both plant based and carnivor diet to keep it balanced. But more plant based and less carnivor.
Such great content, thanks. I learned about the benefits of fiber from Will Bulsciewicz's book "Fiber Fueled". Found your channel through Huberman podcast.
"If you're only eating meat, you're missing out on SO many things"
You could've just said from the start that you are an uninformed idiot and saved us all the time
All credibility went out the window! Keep in mind, this guy is on a statin! He is a dummy.
Hi Layne! What about all of te gmos and pesticides in plants?
n
I've had arguments with people before who take zero interest in nutrition etc. good to hear it coming from the horses mouth.
For many reasons (overpopulation, ethical and environmental considerations) the future of human nutrition is plant and insect based diet.
Which diet is best??? THE ONE THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOUR BODY, HEALTH , BUDGET AND LIFESTYLE. so simple ugh
I'd rather not stink like shit all the time and not be a part of a cult. So if choose carnivore.
Carnivore all the way
Anyone reccomending a carnivore diet has a screw loose 😂 That's just a quick trip to the grave. Glad to see you have common sense.
Correction…the incidence (not risk) of all cause mortality, cancer, and CVD is inversely associated with increased fiber intake. Can you draw causal interference from the meta-analysis of naturalistic observation? Get risk out of your lexicon – it’s forking misleading. Where is the RCT for fiber and any hard health outcome in human beings? Hmmm am I missing something? Am I the only one that smells bullsh!t? 🤢 please help!
All the studies showing benefits of fiber are studies comparing people who are on the pathetic Standard American Diet. If you add fiber to any diet that’s loaded with sugar you are likely to see healthier outcomes as insulin spikes are reduced. The Massai and the Samburu, both hunter gatherer tribes, take in almost no fiber have virtually no heart disease or other chronic diseases. Furthermore you have healthy user bias. People who eat more fruits and vegetables tend to be people who are health conscious. They are less likely to smoke, drink, eat tons of junk food and they exercise more. There is no meaningful study to show that fiber is beneficial. Epidemiology is useless
Boil your veggies people.
appreciated your vid…smashed like. I like the logic and reason.
I had no doubt which you would pick
So, has he done a bug protein power comparison yet? It's the other other white meat from what I hear.
A planet based diet is literally what you said at the end, a balance of both. Now, that balance is not 50/50 its more like 70/30, with consumption of plants being the greater amount. Your opinion is already the definition of a plant based diet.
Educate yourself. Dr Paul Mason. Dr chaffee. Poor information
fiber is not essential lmao
Supplements aren't really diet.
Corny Soy boy 🙌🏽💪🏽
I loved that you called out the carnivore diet as an elimination diet. In essence, it's a low FODMAP diet. A lot of people don't seem to realize these are diets intended to be very temporary and done under professional supervision. Sure a patient might initially feel better, but it's not in their best interest to only get short term benefits and cheat them out of long term health outcomes. This is the problem with social media and echo-chambers. Anecdotes are so annoyingly powerful.
In 2022 you just have to choose between two extremes😂
When you’re entire life is a part of you’re identity it’s hard to be objective.
