Would that include taking things like chia seeds too? I have a friend who eats on the higher fat like yogurt bacon and eggs and I told her that she needs more fruit and greens but is afraid of the fruit because of her insulin rising..

OK, OK, that was snark. I quit using vegetable seed oil years ago. I use coconut oil for stir frying, because it seems to be the least of all evils. Saturated fat is LESS prone to oxidation while polyunsaturated fat is MOST prone to oxidation.
Vegetable and seed oils cause heart disease. Food manufacturers created your diet to sell their toxic products.
