I like your channel. I don't see any about you information. What's your name and what are your credentials?
Thank you #SaveSoil #Consciousplanet
My comment hasn't appeared.
I'm watching your old videos after recently discovered you. And it's great! Simple explanations, to the point and the production value you're known for.
BUT
I have to be nitpicking because there is a thing greatly bothering me.
11:48 But we are! I hate when people say this! And you as someone with scientific background who is extremely well read should know. we are human like monkeys along with our closest cousins, then African great apes subfamily, then great apes family, then simians or higher primates a.k.a. anthropoids or simiiformes infraorder, in the order of simple/dry-nosed primates/monkeys, of three primates order. To avoid scientific names. We are no more not monkeys as we are not mammals or vertebrates or animals or living earthlings. I know you know this very well and you told us as what an average viewer thought but I had to rant because I hate so much when people say that.
nicely done for 1st video
Hey Chris can you make episode about coconut products other than oil i.e. yogurt?
Gosh baby, i thought coconut oil was nice oli to use ? oop's
Good job🎉
Tremendous! Stupendous! Thank you for your refreshing look at these hotly contested subjects
Still one of the best episodes for normal people. Should have millions of views. But….hope tides change soon.
What about fat without all the sugar? Sugar causes inflammation in the arteries that has fat become plaque. But without all the sugar my inflammation in my body has just left me. I feel great everyday which is odd as I do BJJ and am sore normally and stiff.
Thanks Chris; I saw you on ‘the proof’ with Simon Hill and though I’ve seen some of your vids I am now watching all your earlier ones (and sharing). Keep fighting the good fight.
I decided to listen to this video a second time to see if I missed anything. At 9 minutes 40seconds you launch into the sat fat clogged arteries bit. Shortly before listening to this I googled the question ,does sat fat raise cholesterol, ?, and the third suggestion was a paper from Harvard zpublishing, saying that they got it wrong about fat and lipids. NO ASSOCIATION! The date on the paper? 2010!. Also watched a video today by Peter Attia, " Read dressing Dietary Guidelines ,2016. Interesting to hear history of dietary advice from presumably a reputable authority, unless you want to put him down also, because he conflicts with " your scientists doing REAL SCIENCE".
I read ninas book and fell for it. There was so many references that I thought she couldn’t possibly be wrong! I did keto for around a year, I didn’t lose the weight I was hoping for but I feel it did help get my blood sugar better. Then luckily in 2020 we watched both seaspiracy and game changers and luckily for my my husband hopped on board. We’ve been mostly plant based since. The rest of the family still eats a little dairy, and now I can’t even bring myself to cook with meat. I feel great, though my iron is low (I was a regular blood donor 4x year)
I’ve had to stop. But I’m truly grateful to have found a sustainable, ethical and environment friendly way to eat.
For fucks sake dude, the 'bloggers on the internet' have a problem with those books because reality has a problem with them; they are dogmatic, dishonest, 'I want vegetarianism to be true so I square whole round peg reality until I can trick gullible, well minded people.'.
Why do they keep trotting this guy specifically out there to say these dangerously one-sided things? I'm guessing he is equally set in his dogmatism with a reality barrier strong enough to withstand the slings and arrows of facts.
Please, if you are having mental or physical issues and your age concerned it might be your diet, try a total elimination diet: yes it's basically backing into keto, but you won't be sorry.
None of the blue zone populations are carnivore based. They are whole food plant based.
It's funny how the vegan and vegetarian people stay the same thing that the carnivore diet people are saying in that it's healthier and it's much better for your body. I have done both, and I have finally settled on carnivore, and I am so much more healthy for it. You can reference this: https://youtu.be/O4Zw49ZehZI
The research on what the monkeys ate that caused arteries to close was really questionable because monkeys would never eat that kind of food normally and they're not meant to. But humans are meant to eat meat so the study was wrong from the very beginning, using an animal that normally eats vegetation and fruit and insects to eating meat. The same thing goes for rabbits, which are vegetarian, and birds which are insect and seed eating. Of course you're going to harm them giving them food not meant for them. I guess most people are ignoring that fact?
Great vid!
Thank you! I am binge watching and enjoying the deep dives. ❤🌱
Vegetarian and vegan diets are created by 7th Day Adventists Christians! Go look. Originally called “Garden of Eden Vegan Diet” Their goals- ruin human health ruining hormones and Stop fertility! Go look! They used trick tactics to get humans to do it, like “save plant and animals” but they actually had a secret agenda in mind- make you sick! Go check. They even made the heavy plant based low meat food pyramid to reach more people- not using a science based – but they used a religion based ideology. And they are winning!
Yes more please 🤓
I just love your videos – so full of information AND so watchable!
Now I now I am not promoting 1 diet over a the other one thing is for sure a lot of these diseases we have have been around for a long time. Did Gyptian suffered from cancer and diabetes The problem seems to be worse these days.
Well that interesting on study s with oil and butter now if you fig e all the processed food, oil and sugar or molasses honey Karo corn syrup ya first of all animals animals are not designed to eat that stuff they only corn they don’t eat grain and yes, humans will get fatter than a pig if you feed him oil and sugar in one of your Gyptian‘s. She just suffered from the same problem, according to their skin to their mommies, and their children suffered from anemia, and this is prior to the Greeks and Romans. If I’m correct, they didn’t eat lamb or beef.
SO appreciate you, the time and effort you put into all these books, not to mention the cost. Just wanted you to know.💕
Excellent content. Thanks 👌👍
There should some OUT OF THE BOX food trends just for fun. 1) Eat everything that comes out of boxes and nothing else.
2) Eat nothing that comes out of a box and everything else.
Great video! So far, I have watched it four times consecutively. I took a look at US News rankings of diets, and though the various diets do jockey around for position over the years, the Mediterranean diet generally lands in the top three. It was also nice to get the background on Jack Lalanne- I didn't know that he had Adventist influence in his early life.
I subscribed to the channel a while back. Is there any chance that you can do a video on the intersection between the muscle-bound, low-carb/keto/carnivore/high protein approaches and longevity-mortality? Sure, plenty of "Body-builders gone too soon" videos exist on youtube, and I see you have done a couple of videos on the lifespans of diet gurus (great videos, BTW), but to date, I haven't seen anyone do a deep dive on this (though I am aware of a few epidemiological studies on this over the years).
Once again, great video. I often find myself passing along links of your videos to my colleagues at the college I work at. I look forward to your next production. Keep it up!
@2:48 So eloquently expressed!
14:42 You conclude it's a draw? I conclude your title "Which is Best" is clickbait.
Thanks for making this video. Imo if your start off with healthy metabolism, then eat mediterranean/vegetarian, sure. If you currently have a metabolic health problem, autoimmune condition, chronic pain or mental health problem then use animal based keto 80:20 to repair your body then introduce f+v and transition to the conventional healthy diet. Dairy is not needed for human adults. Sorry to hear about your dad. In his era people still used dairy, seed oils and that he had gout tells me his protein ratio was too high. Refer to Charles Eugster; 97yo athlete who realised the importance of high fat ratios.

I think which diet works best is the one that works for you.
I eat far more veg and fibre that most on a ketogenic diet. In addition I drink kefir and eat sauerkraut and kimchi almost daily. Yet I’m on a ketogenic diet. I don’t beat UPF whatsoever and stick to real food.
I don’t eat fruit other than berries very infrequently. I limit myself to 20g of carbs a day.
I’m never hungry and have no cravings.
I eat a square of 99% chocolate per day. I drink coffee before midday but not until I’ve been away for 2 hours.
I stay well hydrated and eat whatever else I want but in moderation since I’m never hungry.
I’ve lost 15% of my body weight and have another 30 kg to go to reach my ideal weight.
I’ve reversed my type 2 diabetes. Stopped all my meds apart from metformin.
My by ranges from. 96/65 to 110/70. My resting heart rate has dropped to 55/ min sinus rhythm.
I cycle 2-3 times per week and have just started with light weights with a plan to increase over the next 6-12 months.
I’m in my 60s.
My lipid profile has improved on keto and my waist circumference is down 8-9 inches.
New temporary wardrobe.
My friends all say I look younger. I feel it too.
I tried low fat plant based diets but couldn’t stick to them and even gained weight from the amount of fruit that I was eating.
I’ve put my trust in
Dr Eric Westman
Sarah Halberg
Prof Roy Taylor
Will I switch to a Mediterranean diet in 12 month….. perhaps.
The big game changer for me was a cGM (continuous glucose monitor). I see no spike now.
To be honest. This diet works for me and I say eat real food and do whatever works for you.
We all need to help start the demise of UPF. UPF IS NOT REAL FOOD it’s poison and just immoral profiteering by the food industry.
Just bought 3 bottles of MCT oil… WELP
It's safe to say I'm glad I saw this video
This channel is gold. Thanks for all the reading, research, analysis, video editing and incredible communication skills. A have a question: I thought dogs and carnivores didn’t get heart disease, but you said studies using coconut fat in
dogs and pretty much any animal causes their arteries to clog? Thanks 🙏
I read the telomere book and had the test. I was in my early 70's and the test gave me an age of 60 but I was hoping for early 50's or lower. The test involved a finger stick and I bled more than I would of liked. Does it really mean anything? I don't know but I do know there are blood stains on my desk.
I was worried about gaining weight when I started to eat more carbs. Didn't gain weight. Lost 3 pounds. I barely eat anything with refined flour, rice, and sugar. I do eat chocolate, but only if it has a good amount of fiber.
The first video on this channel already had a tremendously high quality and is incredibly entertaining, great! Very interesting to be between two very opposing views of nutrition. I know exactly how difficult it is to convince your own father of a healthy diet. Mine is 50 and overweight, but he just won't change. Well, you can't force people to take care of themselves…
Dr Greger's content on his youtube channel was ladden with misinformation, and half-truths, I do not think he is a credible source of information. He should rename his book to "How to be weak and frail" because he seems to live that part pretty well.
What the keto advocates are touting is that coconut oil not mixed with sugar, grains or starchy carbs will not cause arteries to build up with plaque. I'd like to know what else the scientists were feeding the monkeys besides coconut oil?
I love Hungry Planet!!
Thank you ❤ keep up the great work !
5:38 – Sisson does look great. I wonder how is due to him taking testosterone: https://youtu.be/9nBwRCCw4zA
I've been watching your videos non-stop for a whole week and I can't believe that I was on the verge of falling into the carnivore trap. You've been very helpful. Thank you so much.
I watched your video about 5 day fast mimicking diet and it was helpful however It would be amazing if you made a video about fasting, types of fasting and how it can help.
Keto helped me lose the last bit of weight I wanted to lose . I found it unsustainable because I never filled up and I started craving carbs which satisfied the hunger.
I think the beauty of the keto diet for me is that it makes me very accountable to carbs. Hence no processed food at all. It's working like crazy for me. I am dropping lots of wieght. I am enjoying eating all the fats and meats however I sorta kinda know that this much meat and butter isn't good for me and definitely intend to go to a Mediterranean diet or perhaps back to vegan. For me its the accountability. Counting 50 carbs or less changes everything. When I did vegan I could eat those cookies, cupcakes and sodas and even though I tried not to eat to many I bet I ate a lot more than I believed I had. Just my thoughts from someone amazed at the results from keto diet with intermittent fasting!
