The fact is you are what you eat, when you see the result of healthy eating it inspires you to make other positive health decisions. Decisions like being more active, exercising, and drinking more water, less sugary drinks. Unfortunately, modern medicine is mostly a business, and providing a cure is not profitable, your health, therefore, is your responsibility.

I'm transitioning to a plant based diet. I can't believe how much has changed. My skin cleared up. I came off my skin medication. A stomach problem I had. Its gone. I had insomnia for 15 years. Now i sleep through every night. I feel better in myself. My joints hurt less. I've had wobbles and ate the wrong things again. I instantly know about it. I can't sleep. My skin breaks out. I try and tell people and they just look at me like I'm a conspiracy theorist or something. Like I'm mad. But I know it's the diet.
I tried eating Whole Foods plant based for the environment & 90 days later I had no more cat allergies, no more seasonal allergies, no more eczema, no more depression, no more panic attacks, no more carpal tunnel, and was no longer obese!
I eat low carb low glycemic index. No grains no sugar no processed foods and salmon. So far so good.
I tried carnivore but started having stroke symptoms so I swiched and got real stricter on my diet.

I have real bad digestion/constipation issues. I blew out my belly button and leaked pooped for a day. God it hurt… Its been over a year and I have little pain now and then, but still have bad constipation. It seems I cant have wheat or meat. But thanks to whey protein, pinto beans, spinach, brokyley, chia seeds, sun flower seeds, oat meal and potatoes I can eat and live ok… I miss pizza ugg.

Funny that the doctors who recommend plant based diet are slim, fit, usually run milled/day or do some other type of activity, but the doctors who recommend the SAD are usually overweight with that unhealthy spare tire, talk like are losing their breath and look very angry. Don’t get me wrong, I am 5’6” and I was 158lb with 41 waist circumference. I can’t exercise due to knee injury, so my only option was to change my diet because I couldn’t even play fetch with my dog. 3 weeks after cutting all animal products I am down to 152lb, 38” waist circumference and I have loads of energy, my joints are no longer stiff, my knee still injured because that is ligament and it will take time to be fixed since I am 54 already. My point is, I never thought in becoming non meat eater because I simply loved it so much. But honestly, I don’t think I will ever go back to animal products again after watching in disbelief what it can do to my health. Ah, I don’t have num se on my hands and feet… so many symptoms I had are no longer an issue, including bloody nose, feeling heart racing, etc…
seriously, I don’t mean to offend anyone by referring to weigh and big belly, I still have a big belly, but I was not recommending people to eat what I used to eat because deep down I knew I was killing myself. I would not call myself a vegan or a purist in anything, food is not a religion for me. I did watch documentaries about animal welfare and I was chocked and couldn’t even watch most of the scenes… but if I am in social event I won’t ask or demand vegan food, I will avoid at all cost but I understand that in some occasions it is simply impossible. I don’t believe I will hurt myself by eating something containing butter, or egg… but I will, again, try to avoid as much as I can. I do understand that eating certain foods that are trendy, like avocados, quinoa, and other considered “superfood” are terrible for environment and human welfare. So I do avoid anything that destroys the planet. What is left to eat is plenty. Bottom line is, I am sick of feeling that humans, including me, are the only animal destroying this amazing planet. Why do we do this? Why do we “need” so much things in our lives? Seriously… why?

Potatoes ARE plant based. They are full of potassium, Vitamin B and C. A white potato is not quite like white bread because it is grown from the ground while white bread is either unbleached or enriched.
