The couple hung up their food truck keys and have taken over a former ice cream stand at the busy corner of Routes 202 and 237 in Gorham.“The food truck was very successful, and we had a really good response. We were at the Eastern Prom most of the time. We did some other events. But for her and I, it was not long-term sustainable because it got to 116 degrees in there,” Trent Grace said.Everything on Curbside Comforts’ menu is vegan. “We want it to taste like people really don’t know that it doesn’t contain any animal products. So we have no dairy. No eggs. No meat. No animal products at all in any of our dishes,” Suzanne Grace said.Their shop has burgers, mac and cheese and ice cream.“It is oat milk based and then we do use some commercial products that are already pre-packaged processed cheeses and a combination of four different cheeses to make our special sauce,” Suzanne Graze said. “We want to change their mind and even if they do reduce their consumption every little bit is going to help not only the animals but the planet and it is a healthier option for them.”The shop already has a strong fan base with more than 1,500 Instagram followers and regulars who are affectionately known as ‘curbies.’Curbside Comfort even has a plant-based burger that looks and tastes like a Big Mac. “We’ve had several people eat our burger not realizing it was plant-based and say it was one of the best burgers they’ve ever had,” Suzanne said.
